Ian had a thorough knowledge of computer systems and was seconded to the IT Department for a period of time each week. It was not unusual for him to be called to assist at other times also.
The map on the wall had an overlay that showed every Home Office hill-top site in England and Wales
Don't be fooled by the view through the window of lush vegetation. This was the only glimpse we had as the office was on the inside leg of the U-shaped building and we mainly looked towards other offices!”
